The Dutch Arctic Blue Omega-3 products (liquid or capsule) are either plant-based (made from algae oil) or made from the filleting trimmings of wild salmon, wild pollock or wild cod. Besides the fillet for the supermarket, a single cod yields no less than 1 bottle (150 ml) of oil or 250 capsules. While for many fish oils entire shiploads of sardines and anchovies go through the grinder, no extra fish is caught for Arctic Blue fish oil.
