The Dutch TV programme Keuringsdienst van Waarde dedicated an episode to the fish oil capsule. If you watch it back here, you will see that this was painful for many fish oil brands, because the main source of fish oil in the world was exposed. The German biologist and expert on South America and its fish oil industry, Stefan Austermühle, was very helpful here).
The Keuringsdienst van Waarde showed that 30 anchovies are needed to make 1 fish oil capsule
We have put the differences between this South American fish oil (made from whole anchovies and sardines, or deep-sea fish as it is often cryptically described) and the Norwegian fish oil from Arctic Blue (made from trimmings of the cod fillet) into an infographic.
