Algae are tiny plants that can produce Omega-3 fatty acids themselves in water. In nature, algae pass these on to ‘oily’ fish such as herring and sardines when they are eaten. This gives algae oil the power of fish oil. Because we make our algae oil capsules from cultivated algae in a controlled environment, we also know for sure that no contaminants from the ocean can end up in them. The capsule shell is plant-based too, because the gelatine has been replaced by seaweed, among other things.

How do you use the capsules?

Take the capsules just before or just after a meal, preferably a meal containing fats. Do not take on an empty stomach. People who take them after their evening meal report good experiences.

What are the ingredients?

Algae oil (from the microalga Schizochytrium sp.)
Vegan capsule
– Glycerol
– Modified pea starch
– Carrageenan (from seaweed)

Natural rosemary extract
Antioxidant (tocopherol-rich extract, ascorbyl palmitate)

The capsule consists entirely of plant-based ingredients: glycerol (of plant origin), modified pea starch and carrageenan from seaweed. Together they form the capsule shell (about 25% of the capsule). The modified starch has been adapted to provide extra firmness and has nothing to do with genetic modification.

Vitamin E (tocopherol), vitamin C (ascorbyl palmitate) and rosemary extract are antioxidants that protect the omega-3.

The capsule is free from artificial flavourings and free from preservatives, colourings and sweeteners.

Recommended use: 1-2 capsules per day.

If your needs are higher, adults can take a higher dosage of several capsules, as long as the total intake of EPA + DHA stays below 5,000 mg per day.
