How do you use the oil?

Preferably give the oil after or during a meal, for the best absorption. This can be done directly into the mouth with the supplied syringe, or mixed into the food.

What is the recommended dosage?

Omega-3 essential fatty acids can be a good addition to the diet of your dog, cat (and horse) for oral use. Omega-3 oil is suitable for dogs and cats of all ages and breeds. The recommended daily dosage is:

6–10 kg: 2 ml
11–20 kg: 4 ml
21–30 kg: 6 ml
31–40 kg: 8 ml
41–50 kg: 10 ml

Do not exceed the recommended dosage unless a vet or therapist advises otherwise. During pregnancy and lactation, use only in consultation with the vet.

A temporarily increased dosage can be safe, but only do this on the advice of a vet or therapist. Once improvement occurs, you can return to the standard dosage.

Why do you only sell fish oil for dogs, cats or horses and no salmon oil?

Salmon oil is made from farmed salmon. We are not a fan of this, for two reasons. First, the salmon may contain residues of contaminants from the feed or from administered medicines. Second, the Omega-3 content of farmed (fast-grown) salmon has declined considerably over the years. As a result, the Omega-3 content in salmon oil is low.

Which animals is this product suitable for, is it also suitable for horses?

Suitable for dogs and cats of any age and any breed. Can also be used safely for horses, provided the dosage is adjusted to the body weight.
